The Vintage Scamp attempts to recycle any and all materials.
Our refashioned jewelry is constructed from broken pieces of vintage jewelry as well as brooches, necklaces, chains and “steampunk” pieces that are in great vintage shape and add a fashion flair to whatever we are making at the time. Whatever we use, the purpose of our jewelry is to help preserve a memory, a dream, a moment in a time gone by, a family heirloom or the lovely work of a designer who has left a legacy behind.
In addition and to further emphasize a commitment to staying green, each of our orders now comes to you gift wrapped in lovely silver 100% recycled gift boxes.
Also, the flat rate shipping boxes that are supplied by the USPS are made from recycled materials.
These practices are good for our customers and good for our environment.

At the bottom of the pile of my vintage jewelry bundle from this week’s auction was yet another fascinating find! This pair of vintage earrings designed and signed by Kenneth
Jay Lane are stunning to say the least! The chandelier design with turquoise stones and clear rhinestones make a fabulous combination and remain stylish and currently modern even after many years of having been worn by some lucky diva of dazzle. Coming soon to our Vintage Earrings online shop.
Auctions are such fun! Trying to imagine the use of some of the old vintage and antique gadgets brings smiles to even the most stern faces and this week there were a lot of smiles as each item confounded us all. In the end, I carried away over 10 pounds of vintage necklaces feeling certain that, stupidly, I had just bought a pile of junk. Then, I start
ed sorting, untangling, scrubbing, and inspecting my finds when I discovered a vintage treasure! This Castlecliff necklace came from the fashion conscious days of the 1940’s when elegance was a way of life.
Castlecliff was a manufacturer of some of the finest vintage jewelry of the 20th century until, in 1970’s when the jeweler became part of Carnegie Industries. Castlecliff was sold in the finest department stores and the quality stands apart from most of the other designers of its time. Somehow, there is just not a dull moment when I go to auctions. The fascination does not end with the last bang of the gavel, however, and when I get home and start to sort through the treasures, there is always something exciting and fascinating to share. Enjoy these pieces as much as I do and you can find them for sale right here on The Vintage Scamp website. Thanks for visiting. The search for vintage jewelry continues next week at the next auction! Until next time!
